If you’ve ever stood on the sideline at a TOPSoccer session, you already know: the smiles say everything. For twenty-five years, SABR’s TOPSoccer program has given young athletes with challenges the chance to experience the joy of soccer — and it has given Boca Raton teens an incredibly meaningful way to grow, give back, and be part of something special.
Every season, families and volunteers create an inclusive, energetic, joyful environment where every athlete can shine. And every year, teens discover that being a TOPSoccer Buddy becomes one of the most memorable and rewarding experiences of their school year
What Is TOPSoccer — and Why It Matters
TOPSoccer is a national community-based program for children and young adults with physical, developmental, or intellectual challenges. SABR’s program is a vibrant, supportive community where Buddies work one-on-one or in small groups with athletes in a safe, fun, encouraging environment.
Who Can Volunteer
Teens in 8th grade or older (or age 14 by Jan 10, 2026)
- No soccer experience required
- Kindness, patience, and enthusiasm are what matter most
To participate, all Buddies attend the mandatory Orientation:
Sunday, January 4, 2026 at 3:30 PM — Sugar Sand Park Field House.
(This is the only Sunday commitment.)
Why Teens Love Being Buddies
Being a Buddy isn’t just about earning community service hours. It’s about:

Buddies Check-In: 2:30 PM
Season Length: 9 weeks
Last Game: March 14, 2026
No session: February 14 (President’s Day weekend)
Orientation
All Buddies attend Orientation on Sunday, January 4 at 3:30 PM. Volunteers learn communication skills, safety basics, strategies for supporting athletes, and what to expect on Game Day. It’s also a great time to meet the volunteer team.
