The FYSA Risk Management Program aims to identify and mitigate risks in our soccer community to protect youth athletes statewide. We implement various measures, including mandatory shin guards and background checks for all volunteers, coaches, and staff.
To complete your background check, log in to your GotSport account, go to the Background Check tab, and click ‘Submit New Report.’ Enter your legal name and required details for national and state-level screenings. Please submit your background check once per season on time.

SAFESPORT
In 2018, Congress passed the SafeSport Act to prevent and report child abuse in youth sports by expanding mandatory reporters and requiring enhanced training. FYSA mandates that all adult members, including coaches, managers, and administrators, complete SafeSport training, covering mandatory reporting, sexual misconduct awareness, and emotional and physical misconduct.
Training is available to registered FYSA members through their GotSport Accounts and must be completed before participating in any sanctioned activities. Completed training dates will be recorded in your GotSport Account.

“FYSA Head’s Up Concussion” reflects the Florida Youth Soccer Association’s dedication to concussion awareness and management through the CDC’s “Heads Up” program. It mandates that all FYSA coaches and staff complete online training on recognizing and responding to potential concussions in young athletes, ensuring proper concussion protocols are followed in youth soccer.
