Soccer After School & Summer Training FAQ’s

Soccer After School & Summer Training FAQs*

First Come, First Served

All online registrations are date- and time-stamped. We strongly encourage parents to register as early as possible. Space is limited, and spots may not be available for late registrants.

Training groups are intentionally small—6 to 8 players per group. Once a group reaches 8 players, it moves to Wait List status. Credit card information is required to register, but Wait List registrations are not charged unless a spot becomes available.

* As of April 14, 2024. Subject to change.

Registration FAQs

Q: What is SABR Soccer After School & Summer Training?

A: These programs use a proven, development-focused training model based on best practices in youth soccer. Small groups of 6 to 8 players receive personalized technical instruction and participate in dynamic 2v2 to 4v4 games.

  • Soccer After School runs from late August through May, in blocks of 3 to 5 weeks, adjusted for holidays and school breaks.

  • Summer Training includes two one-week sessions of four consecutive morning sessions (Monday–Thursday), with a rain make-up day if needed.

    • Week 1: Boys & Girls ages 6–13

    • Week 2: Players ages 12–18

Q: Will my child get to train if they’re on the Wait List?

A: Possibly. If we have enough interest and can add a session with a licensed Head Coach, we will notify families on the Wait List for that age group.

Q: When does registration open?

A:

  • Soccer After School: Opens in July for the August start.

  • Summer Training: Opens in April for the June sessions.

Families will receive an email notification when registration opens.

Q: Who can participate in Soccer After School?

A: Children born between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2020 are eligible.

Q: Who can participate in Summer Soccer Training?

A: Children born between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2019 are eligible.

Q: What is the cost to participate?

A: Fees vary depending on the number of training hours per session. All payments must be made online using a credit card.

Q: How is my child’s training group assigned?

  • 2016 & 2015

Q: What’s the time commitment for families?

  • After School sessions: 1 hour per session

  • Summer sessions: 2 hours each morning

Please arrive on time and plan to leave promptly when your child’s session ends.

Q: Can I request a specific coach or teammate?

A: No. Group placements are assigned first come, first served and we do not accommodate placement requests.

Q: Are games played during the sessions?

A: Yes. Each session includes small-sided scrimmages to reinforce learning through play.

Q: When does registration close?

A: Registration remains open until a group reaches 8 players. After that, the group is moved to Wait List status and will continue accepting registrations in case of cancellations or expanded staffing.

Q: What is SABR’s refund policy?

A: Registration fees for Soccer After School and Summer Training are non-refundable.

Q: Is my child covered by insurance during training?

A: Yes. SABR is affiliated with the Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA).

  • All youth players are covered by supplemental medical insurance.

  • Coaches and administrators are covered by supplemental liability insurance.

These are excess policies that apply only after private insurance is exhausted and carry a $350 deductible.

All claims must be submitted to the SABR After School Director of Coaching.

Q: I have more questions. Who can I contact?

A: Please email Carrie Barker, Director of Coaching, at cbarker@sabrsoccer.net. Allow extra time for responses during high-demand registration periods.

Important Notes About Online Registration

  • Read every screen carefully during registration—important notes and group availability are shown throughout the process.

  • Error messages often result from incorrect login information. Be sure to use the exact User Name and Password registered with SABR.

  • If a group is full, Step 3 will show a “group filled” message. This is your only warning.

Continuing beyond this step will place your child on the Wait List, and you will not be able to select another group without starting a new registration.
