SABR is a well-rounded club in Boca Raton, offering programs for kids of all skill levels. We focus on developing players both on and off the field, while emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, and the importance of effort over just winning—because we believe the most important thing is that kids have fun. Our Youth Program is the largest in the Florida Youth Soccer Association.
The Fall/Winter season organizes more than 2,000 boys and girls into single gender teams led by Grassroot volunteer coaches who are trained pre-season and guided during the season by Carrie Barker, our professional Director of Coaching.
The season runs November – February with suspensions in practice and play over school breaks. The last Saturday of the season includes our Soccer Celebration of awards, carnival midway and free hot dogs and drinks for all age groups.
Our Under 7 – Under 19* Age Divisions train one night per week and play 12 games on weekends. Then, all of the teams conclude the season in the Tom Cherubin Cup 3 week tournament.
Our Under 5 and Under 6* age groups will train and play on Saturdays for an hour. The first half hour will be age appropriate skills training, and then they will play their game against another team.
We have a fixed number of roster spots for every team in every age group. All registrations completed on your GotSoccer account by deadline will be eligible to be placed on a team provided there is a spot available. The remaining children will be placed on the Wait List. We will do our best to assign them to teams later, but cannot assure them a spot
Anyone who lives outside of the City of Boca Raton or the Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District must also pay the City of Boca Raton’s Non-Resident fee of approximately $65 per player.
The Spring season is available in a limited number of age groups to registered players who played on teams in the current Fall/Winter SABR season and their coaches.
All games will be held Friday nights or Saturday mornings. Games only – No weeknight practices.
Coaches manage a 1-hour pickup style game with referees and substitutions. Each week the players are mixed onto the opposing teams (hence pickup) so the children will constantly play with new teammates. This is a great chance for all our players to get to know each other and enjoy the game of soccer in a more casual manner than during the regular SABR season.
SABR’s Soccer After School & Summer Training sessions offer individualized skills training for Rec players aged Under 5 to Under 19, led by Director of Player Development, Carrie Barker and her staff of experienced trainers. Age groups are limited to 6-8 players, meeting 1-2 days per week for 2-5 week sessions at the Spanish River Athletic Complex. Multiple options available for each age group.
Volunteer coaches and administrators are essential to SABR’s Recreational Soccer program. Our Director of Coaching, Carrie Barker, a U.S. Soccer Federation Grassroots Instructor, provides full-time training for both players and coaches.
All volunteers complete their annual authorization through the Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA), a 2-part process. Volunteer coaches for the 2025-2026 season can sign up during child registration.
The first part of the process includes agreements to follow FYSA and SABR standards and a Risk Management background check (mandatory for all youth sports volunteers).
The second part is the completion of two Federally required educational courses:
SABR follows FIFA Laws of the Game with Florida Youth Soccer Association mandated adjustments for Youth Rec. Infractions and red cards by players and non-players are addressed per the SABR Discipline Chart.
We also have specific SABR rules to participate in our Youth Rec Program, rules of conduct, involuntary dismissal, equipment required, jewelry and prohibited casts.
The SABR Youth Soccer Handbook is your go-to resource for program details. Check the Handbook or our website for answers to most questions. If needed, consult your coach before reaching out to a volunteer administrator.
SABR welcomes tax-deductible contributions from individuals, families, and companies to help fund coach education, goalkeeper gear, training equipment, and offset player registration fees.
We offer a number of levels of sponsorship and sponsor benefits – from a single team to division to program-wide.
SABR, the largest soccer club in Boca Raton, brings families and friends together through fun, fair play, personal growth, and team competition, creating lasting connections on and off the field.
