Online registrations are date and time-stamped. Early registration is encouraged, as spots may fill up. Team numbers are based on registrations by September 14, with separate boys’ and girls’ age groups to ensure full rosters.
How do I register?
Registration opens June 15, 2025 and closes on September 14, 2025, when it moves to Wait List. Click here for the How to Register Guide with step-by-step instructions.
Who can play in the SABR league?
All boys and girls must be born January 1, 2007 – December 31, 2021.
What is our family’s time commitment?
For U7-U19: one practice per week and one (occasionally two) weekend games. U5-U6: practice and play on Saturdays for one hour. Commitment includes attending all practices and games.
What is the cost to play in the SABR league?
The registration fee is $195 per child for U7-U19 and $145 for U5-U6 for the 2025-2026 season. Payment is online by credit card only; ACH transfer is not accepted.
Who must pay the Nonresident Fee and how much is it?
Players living outside of the Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District must pay a Nonresident fee of approximately $65. This fee will appear during online checkout and must be paid by credit card. If the residency is not verified during checkout, SABR will charge the fee to your account after review.
Click here for map of the Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District.
When does the season start and end?
The season for U7 and older players starts with practices in late-October, while U5 and U6 begin one week later in November.
Coaches for U7 and older will receive rosters at the Coaches meeting 1 week prior to the beginning of practices, and contact players by phone/email.
U5 and U6 families will be contacted by email in late October.
If you don’t hear from your coach, contact the Division Rep. for your age group. (Click here for Staff Directory).
SABR plays every week, except during Thanksgiving and Winter Break.
Our season will end at the end of February with our annual Tom Cherubin Cup Finals & Carnival of games, free food and rides for players and their families.
In what age group will my child play?
SABR follows US Youth Soccer guidelines for age group assignments. Players born 2014-2021 are in single-year age groups, while U15 and U19 are multi-year. U15 includes players born 2011-2013, and U19 includes players born 2007-2010. All age groups are single-gender. See our Age Chart.
What soccer gear does my child need?
Each child needs a soccer ball, cleats, shin guards (under socks), and a water bottle labeled with their name for all practices and games.
SABR provides a complete uniform (jersey, shorts and socks) to all players.
*Soccer ball sizes are: size 3 for children born 2018 – 2021; size 4 for children born 2014 – 2017; and size 5 for children born 2007 – 2013.
What are New Player Evaluations?
New players in U9 and older (born 2015 or earlier) will be evaluated on Friday nights in September. Parents will receive details in August and September. All players must be evaluated for team balance. This is not a tryout; players are placed on teams based on registration timestamp, provided the evaluation is completed by September 19, 2025.
Are any Requests and Pre-assignments allowed?
Pre-assignment requests are allowed only for coaches (U7 and older) and team parents (U5 and U6) who wish to volunteer together, with a maximum of two volunteers per team.
Player requests are not allowed by anyone, including Coaches, Team Managers, and Sponsors.
Once the two parent volunteers are assigned to a team with their children, our team building software assigns all the rest of the children onto the teams.
No more than two players can be pre-assigned to the same team, or three if the coach or assistant coach’s children are siblings. Sibling pre-assignments for non-volunteers must be noted during registration. Team rosters are generated without further adjustments, and no trades or preferential assignments are allowed to ensure balance. Requests for specific practice nights are only accommodated for volunteer coaches or team parents, while team sponsors can request but are not guaranteed practice night preferences after teams are built.
What night is practice?
Your team is assigned a practice night. Please do not request team switches for scheduling conflicts, as we cannot accommodate these changes with more than 2,000 players on our teams.
When are games played?
SABR Boys and Girls play 12 games in a 10 weekend season (allowing for breaks at Thanksgiving and Winter holidays). Most age groups play their primary game on Saturdays. GU11, GU12, GU19, BU15 & BU19 play on Sundays. Friday nights are scheduled when teams need to play a 2nd game that weekend. Game schedules are determined after team formation in early October based on registration numbers.
When does Registration close?
Registration ends September 14, 2025.
The registration system will continue to accept Wait List registrations beginning September 15.
If I miss all of the registration dates, can my child still play in the SABR league?
After September 14, late registrants may join the Wait List online. Registration opens to Wait List status on September 15, and we aim to place all players who register by September 30. Team sizes are limited. Coaches will contact players placed on teams after the mid-October Coaches Meeting. The Wait List remains open throughout the season to fill team needs, with fees charged only upon placement. If not placed on a team, refunds will be issued. Wait List spots are not guaranteed, and SABR administrators will contact you if a spot becomes available.
What documentation do I need to register?
Registration is completed online at www.sabrsoccer.net starting in June and closes in mid-September.
What is SABR’s policy on issuing refunds?
SABR honors registration cancellation refund requests made in writing by September 14, 2025, minus a $25 administrative fee. The registration fee covers uniforms, insurance, equipment, coaches’ training, and FYSA affiliation, and these expenses are non-refundable. Email requests to SABRregistrar@sabrsoccer.net. Refunds are not issued after September 14 unless the player is not placed on a team. Team assignments begin on September 15, and we apologize for any scheduling adjustments you may need to make afterwards.
Is my child covered by SABR’s supplemental liability insurance?
Through SABR’s affiliation with FYSA, all youth players receive supplemental medical insurance upon payment of dues and premiums, covering costs after private insurance limits are reached with a $350 deductible. Coaches, managers, and administrators are covered by supplemental liability insurance. All claims must be reported to the Director of Boy’s or Girl’s Soccer. SABR is also affiliated with the Florida State Soccer Association, providing adult members with similar supplemental medical insurance.
I have another question. Who do I contact?
For general questions, submit the form on our Contact Page. You should not contact anyone from our Staff Directory. We will route your form to the appropriate volunteer depending on your question. Please allow a few days for volunteers to respond.
