Arrive 20-30 minutes early to ensure the field is safe (e.g., goals anchored, no hazards). Referees must be punctual; habitual tardiness may lead to removal from the roster.
If a referee does not show up:
Contact Mr. Brian Behrmann (SABR Youth Soccer) or Mr. Lou Hecht (SABR Team Boca) to check their whereabouts. If unable to reach them, ask nearby referees if they can assist.
If no contact or substitute is available, find a licensed referee to act as a linesman and confirm their status.
If no licensed referee is available, you may use a “club linesman” with coach approval for recreational games. The club linesman can only indicate if the ball is out of play, not offside. Notify Mr. Behrmann.
If the scheduled linesman arrives late, they can replace the club linesman with the referee’s approval. Report tardiness to Mr. Behrmann.
